OneLife Suffolk Ipswich Summer Club
OneLife Suffolk is the FREE healthy lifestyle service funded by public health at Suffolk County Council, supporting local people to live healthier lives.
As part of the service, OneLife Suffolk offer FREE programmes for children, young people and their families to help them achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The children and families team at OneLife Suffolk work to deliver in- school programmes in primary schools across Suffolk, whilst also offering community clubs for families, plus children’s clubs during the school holidays. All services delivered by the children and families team are available for children from the ages of 4 – 16 year olds who are on or above the 91st centile on the children’s growth chart, however, if only one child in the family is eligible, other siblings can attend too!!
There are no gimmicks, no unrealistic expectations; just brilliant activities that give children and their families the tools to get fit and healthy for the future. The sessions include interactive games and activities which support children to learn about the importance of healthy eating and physical activity whilst supporting parents to read food labels, understand portion sizes and be clear on some of the key health messages in the media.
All sessions are completely FREE and are offered across Suffolk in local community venues. Discover a family group or holiday club near you at: https://onelifesuffolk.co.uk/families-and-young-people/”
What do parents have to say?
“ We feel more confident as a result of what we have learned here – the things we thought were healthy have turned out not to be. It has benefitted us physically through healthy eating and spending time together during physical activity.”
“It was really helpful to see how much sugar was actually in drinks and foods. We thought it was really well run and very informative”
“ I believe learning from yourselves, my children will now actually implement what has been taught rather than listening to a parent they think is nagging them!”
