2FACED DANCE COMPANY BRING FAMILY FUN TO DANCEEAST WITH NEW DANCE AND CIRCUS SHOW WHAT THE MOON SAW

We will welcome 2Faced Dance Company with What The Moon Saw, a new interactive dance and circus show for the whole family, inspired by the work of Hans Christian Anderson on Friday 13 & Saturday 14 April.

What The Moon Saw follows lonely young artist Jack as he spends his first night in a new house sketching, but his pictures only appear in black and white.  Frantic, Jack opens his bedroom window to find The Moon gazing back at him, telling Jack about everything he has seen around the world through physical movement. The audience is taken with Jack on an adventure, from a dragon who is unable to breathe fire in China to a chimney sweep who dances on rooftops in London. With the help of The Moon’s stories, Jack discovers he is not alone in the world and his monochrome sketches turn to colour.

We will also host a circus themed Family Fun Day on Saturday 14 April, with activities throughout the building including special circus-based ‘Tots’ classes at 10.30am and 1.30pm for young children and parents to enjoy before or after the show. A variety of arts and crafts activities will be on offer including a ‘Find The Moon’ treasure hunt around the DanceHouse, a drawing competition and the opportunity for children to decorate their very own moon.
