Museums, sport and parks - Council services over Easter
There is a lot going on over Easter in Ipswich.
Bin collections, museums and Crown Pools are all operating as normal on Good Friday.
Crown Pools is also open on Easter Monday (again from 7.45am to 5pm). Sports centres and Fore Street Pool are open on Saturday and Sunday but closed on both bank holidays.
The visitor centres in Christchurch Park and Holywells Park will be open every day over the holiday from 10am. Crown car park will be open from 8am to 8pm on each day, apart from Saturday, when it will remain open until 11.30pm.
The Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in St Stephen’s Church will be open from 10am to 2pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday and open from 9am to 5pm on the Saturday. There is a Dragon Hunt guided tea walk on Tuesday 23rd April, leaving the TIC at 2pm – just right for St George’s Day. The cost is £9 and you can book at the TIC or online at www.ipswichregent.com
Ipswich Museum, Christchurch Mansion and the Ipswich Art School Gallery will be closed on the Monday but the Mansion offers a family yoga session inspired by sculpture at the Mansion on Easter Sunday between 10am and 11am. It’s free but you will need to book at www.ipswichregent.com
After Easter there is just one week left to see the magnificent Rodin Kiss & Tell exhibition – don’t miss it. Over at the Ipswich Art Gallery, the Women 100 exhibition has been extended by popular demand. Both are free.
Ipswich cemeteries are open to visitors throughout Easter but the Cemetery Office will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday as there are no services.
Ipswich Borough Council’s Shopmobility service will be available on Saturday but closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
