Children in Need events at Suffolk Libraries
Several of the county’s libraries are holding events to raise money for BBC Children in Need this year:
Chantry Library are holding a special ‘Bring your Teddy to the Library’ event on Friday 13 November from 3pm to 5pm. There will be a special story time session, a treasure hunt, teddy bear’s picnic, crafts and a chance to meet Bookstart Bear – Suffolk Libraries very own mascot!
Southwold Library is offering customers a chance to have a go at a Pudsey guessing game and win a prize. If you can guess Pudsey’s favourite cake you can win your own cake! The competition is running from Friday 6 to Friday 20 November.
Ipswich Library are asking families and children to bring teddies along to the regular activities for young children on the Wednesday 11 November Baby Bounce session at 2.15pm and the Play Rhyme and Storytime sessions on Thursday 12 November at 10.30am. Bookstart Bear will be making an appearance at both events.
Come and support the Club 4 Teenz youth group who will be are taking over Gainsborough Library in Ipswich on Saturday 14 November. The teens will be running the library and café, helping with IT enquiries, selling cakes, providing a colouring competition and a guess the name of the teddy activity for children, along with face-painting, crafts, and an afternoon pool tournament, in return for donations. They will be easy to spot in their yellow Children in Need t-shirts and will be helped out by Bookstart Bear so please come along and make a donation!
Cavendish Guiding are also going to be at Gainsborough Library on Friday 13 November from 4-6pm, offering a cake sale, disco and superhero crafts, all for donations to Children In Need.
Needham Market Library are supporting Bring your Teddy to Work Day and there will be bear themed stories from 2pm to 4pm.
Halesworth Library are asking people to celebrate their love for their teddy bears with a poem, story or picture. All entries will be displayed in the library with a suggested 50p donation per entry. Entries can be dropped off at the library in Bridge Street any time and there is are prizes for the best entries of a £15.00, £10.00 and £5.00 book voucher. The prizes have been kindly donated by The Friends of Halesworth Library.
All donations from these events will go to Children in Need.
